Most of the time these days are spent on social media.  So much negative news is being shown on TV that it does not feel like watching.  Reading pages of books seems too heavy.  In such a situation, eyes are kept on Facebook all the time.  Saw a picture yesterday and then I just kept looking at it.  A poor laborer was returning to his village on foot.  There was luggage on his back.  However, there was a dog in one hand and a duck in the other hand.  In the hour of this calamity, where there is no place to reach her own house, even then, she did not leave those helpless animals alone.  If he wanted, he would have left these animals there, what would the poor people do.  But, how much we love the animals we raise, this picture was a testimony to this fact.  This is called humanism.  Many such pictures settle in the eyes and are often remembered.  A few years ago, a scene of floods in Bihar was seen on TV.  A boy was immersed in the river water up to his neck.  There was a basket on his head and a goat kid was sitting in it.  He was repeatedly touching the child with his hand and seeing that he was safe.  Similarly, another man stood on the plank holding his cow's rope.  Another boy had a bag hanging around his neck, and the cat's eyes were visible from it.  There are so many scenes, which you feel throughout your life.  There are also scenes, which are filled with eyes seeing, a Kerala newspaper printed a picture of buses going in two opposite directions.  He was such a wonderful picture that he wants to see it again and again.  In it, a child is holding a banana while sitting in another bus.  The newspaper had told that the child was hungry.  When he saw the banana in the hand of the child sitting in the second bus, he started asking and the banana child did not delay in giving the banana to that child.  Don't know, but children also know how to help a needy.  Maybe we get closer to each other in trouble.  The notion of saving each other becomes stronger.  In another picture, the people of the minority community stood with big banners in their hands, on which it was written - Just stay, eat and drink water, in a picture of Uttarakhand, there is a leopard going forward and behind the workers are coming back.  Huh .  Those workers only want to go home.  The charm of the house has also eradicated the fear of the leopard within them, there are so many such things, which strengthen us on humans and humanity even in very enchanted days.

मजदूर आजकल अधिकतर समय सोशल मीडिया पर ही बीतता है . टीवी पर इतनी इतनी नकारात्मक खबरें दिखायी जा रही हैं कि देखने का मन ही नहीं करता . किताबों के एक - दो पन्ने पढ़ना भी बहुत भारी लगता है . ऐसे में हर समय नजरें फेसबुक पर ही लगी रहती हैं . कल एक तस्वीर देखी और फिर मैं उसे देखती ही रह गयी . एक गरीब मजदूर पैदल अपने गांव लौट रहा था . उसकी पीठ पर सामान लदा था . मगर , एक हाथ में एक कुत्ता था और दूसरे हाथ में एक बत्तख . इस विपत्ति की घड़ी में जहां खुद उसके घर पहुंचने का कोई ठिकाना नहीं है , ऐसे में भी उसने उन असहाय जानवरों को अकेला नहीं छोड़ा . वह चाहता तो इन जानवरों को वहीं छोड़ देता , वे बेचारे क्या कर लेते . लेकिन , जिन जानवरों को हम पालते हैं , हमें उनसे कितना लगाव हो जाता है , यह तस्वीर इस बात की गवाही दे रही थी . इसे ही मानवीयता कहते हैं . ऐसे बहुत से चित्र आंखों में बस जाते हैं और अक्सर याद आते रहते हैं . कुछ साल पहले बिहार में आयी बाढ़ का एक दृश्य टीवी पर देखा था . एक लड़का नदी के पानी में गले तक डूबा था . उसके सिर पर एक टोकरी थी और उसमें एक बकरी का बच्चा बैठा था . वह बार - बार उस बच्चे को हाथ से छूकर देख रहा था कि वह सही - सलामत तो है . इसी तरह एक दूसरा आदमी अपनी गाय की रस्सी पकड़े बहते तख्ते पर खड़ा था . एक दूसरे लड़के ने अपने गले में एक थैला लटका रखा था , और उसमें से बिल्ली की आंखें दिखायी दे रही थीं . ऐसे न जाने कितने दृश्य हैं , जिन्हें आप जीवनभर महसूस करते हैं . ऐसे दृश्य भी हैं , जिन्हें देखकर आंखें भर आती हैं , केरल के एक अखबार ने दो विपरीत दिशाओं में जानेवाली बसों का एक चित्र छापा था . वह इतना अदभुत चित्र था कि उसे बार - बार देखने का मन करता है . इसमें एक बच्चा दूसरी बस में बैठे बच्चे को एक केला पकड़ा रहा है . अखबार ने बताया था कि वह बच्चा भूखा था . जब उसने दूसरी बस में बैठे बच्चे के हाथ में केला देखा तो मांगने लगा और केले वाले बच्चे ने उस बच्चे को केला देने में जरा सी भी देरी नहीं की . न जान न पहचान , लेकिन बच्चे भी जानते हैं कि किसी जरूरतमंद की मदद कैसे की जाती है . मुसीबत में शायद हम एक - दूसरे के अधिक करीब हो जाते हैं . एक - दूसरे को बचाने की धारणा और मजबूत हो जाती है . एक और चित्र में अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय के लोग हाथों में बड़े - बड़े बैनर लिये खड़े थे , जिन पर लिखा था- जरा ठहरें , खाना खायें और पानी पियें , उत्तराखंड की एक तस्वीर में आगे - आगे तेंदुआ जा रहा है और पीछे पीछे मजदूर आ रहे हैं . वे मजदूर सिर्फ अपने घर जाना चाहते . घर के आकर्षण ने उनके भीतर के तेंदुए के भय भी खत्म कर दिया है , ऐसी न जाने कितनी बातें हैं , जो बेहद मिाणा भरे दिनों में भी इंसान और इंसानियत पर हम मजबूत करती हैं .
